Class 4- Symmetry and symmetrical Patterns
Nature uses symmetry to make things beautiful. Symmetry is often seen every day by people of all ages in nature A shape or an object has symmetry if it can be divided into two identical pieces. In symmetrical shape, one- half is the mirror image of the other half. The imaginary axis or line along which the figure can be folded to obtain the symmetrical halves is called the line of symmetry. As a part of the Cambridge curriculum, the children of class 4 did an activity based on symmetry and symmetrical patterns. They drew the symmetrical patterns on graph paper and also they made symmetrical objects. This helped in strengthening their concept. So they explored the use of symmetry through this activity.
